Intel Introduces Atom Processor 64 bit

Smartphone with an Intel Atom Processor 64-bit Android-powered immediately slid the second quarter this year.

At Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Intel introduces Atom Processor 64-bit. With code-named Merrifield, the chip was intended for smartphones and tablets.

On that occasion Intel demonstrating smartphone with a dual-core processor Merrifield that runs the Android operating system is 64-bit. Before Intel has been demonstrating an Android tablet that is also running a 64-bit processor but with an Atom with code-named Bay Trail.

Merrifield is a SoC that uses micro-architecture Silvermont 22 nanometers. Intel Atom Z3480 operates at 2, 13GHz and more efficient batteries. Intel had hoped, the device uses the processor to be launched at the beginning of the second quarter of this year.

In addition to the Merrifield, Intel also revealed details of an Atom Processor quad core with code-named the Moorefield is also a 64-bit chip.

Meanwhile Moorefield to be available in the second half of this year. According to Intel processors will operate on 2, 3GHz, with the performance of the GPU that is fixed, and supports a faster memory.
